JICS Joint Faculty positions are joint appointments between UT and ORNL. Joint Faculty hold dual appointments as faculty members in a UT department and staff members in an ORNL research group. Appointments may be made at the full, associate, or assistant professor rank and an equivalent grade at ORNL.
To ensure that JICS has a broad range of expertise and experience to meet the challenge of advancing computational science and engineering on terascale and beyond computers, UT and ORNL have targeted the addition of two dozen new JICS positions over the next three-to-five years to support JICS research and education programs.
